By the Bucket

~
From February to December--hellebore to holly--we provide buckets of blooms and foliage to some of Vancouver Island's most celebrated floral designers. Stems range from the unusual and hard-to-source--including fruit on the branch, such as young quince and plums--to tried and true varieties and colours of sweet peas, narcissus, tulips, and dahlias among many others.

Ours is a mature garden, and many shrubs and trees have been growing here for over 20 years: rambling roses, yellow camellia, white fritillaria, copper beech, purple ninebark. We're fortunate that these beautiful stems have fallen into the right hands and contribute to some of Vancouver Island's most memorable weddings and events. The Slow Flower movement makes such good sense, and we embrace the challenges of growing seasonal, local, and fresh flowers and foliage.

The farm does not use pesticides or herbicides. Stem length doesn't always conform to wholesale standards given that we don't grow in greenhouses, and that most soil amendments are produced on site or sourced from nearby farms. Growing this way can be an adventure, and we're always learning from other growers to provide the strongest and most stunning stems possible.
